World bronze medallist Justin Gatlin showed the entire field a clean pair of heels as he blasted away from his rivals to win in a world leading 9.92, a season’s best by a tenth for the American. Jamaica’s Nesta Carter came late to claim second in 10.12, his quickest of the year, while Gatlin’s fast-starting compatriot Michael Rodgers held on for third in 10.18. The home fans had much to cheer too as Su Bingtian clocked 10.20 for fourth, a place ahead of former world champion Kim Collins.
