Triple Jump Women: Ibarguen extends her win streak with easy win

A splendidly consistent Caterine Ibarguen extended her triple jump win streak with ease, finishing her impressive series just 2cm short of her own world lead of 14.87m. All Ibarguen’s jumps further than anyone else managed on the night, each one greeted with flag-waving cheers by the small pocket of colourful Colombian fans on the far side of the stadium. Ukraine’s 2011 world champion Olha Saladukha was second with 14.62 from round six, while Olympic champion Olga Rypakova’ 14.38 was good enough for third. The Kazakhstani was the last woman to beat Ibarguen, back in the London 2012 final.
